13 1990s Horror Movies You Must See Before You Die

11. Bride Of Chucky

Cure Film

After Scream (more on that soon) revived the horror genre in the late 90s, a group of postmodern, satirical slasher films, which were evidently inspired by Scream, hit cinemas. Examples include I Know What You Did Last Summer, Urban Legend and this, the fourth film in the Child's Play franchise.

The former two films are OK but pretty much for die-hard slasher fans only. Bride of Chucky, on the other hand, is an awesome horror comedy and one of the best slasher movie sequels of all time.

Thanks to great performances, a surprisingly charming love story between the two human protagonists, terrific gags and a mad, consistently engaging plot, Bride of Chucky is the best Child's Play film to date and a complete blast on every level. In a decade so full of tedious genre offerings something as delightful as this couldn't have been more welcome.

Just don't go anywhere near its follow-up, 2004's Seed of Chucky.
