The Buzz: This is nothing if not a bold and ambitious attempt to bring Yukito Kishiro's legendary manga to the big screen, with Fox spending an insane $200 million on the James Cameron-produced adaptation.

This tale of an amnesiac cyborg looking to discover her past is certainly blessed with an incredible cast. Appealing on-the-rise actress Rosa Salazar takes the lead role, while Christoph Waltz, Mahershala Ali, Michelle Rodriguez, Jackie Earle Haley and Jennifer Connelly round out the supporting players.

Above all else, is betting against Cameron ever a smart thing to do?

Why It'll Disappoint: The main sticking point here is that Cameron has left the directing to the highly inconsistent Robert Rodriguez, who has never tackled a project even remotely close to this budget before.

Plus, Cameron co-wrote the movie with Terminator Genisys writer Laeta Kalogridis, which is a tad worrying, and simply it would be so easy for this movie to be another over-ambitious big-budget bust. If it actually turns a decent profit, let alone scores solid reviews, it would be extremely surprising.
