9. "Captain Supermarket" - Army of Darkness - Japan

9-Strange-Utterly-Bewildering-Movie-Title-Translations-9 Here's a movie title that - on first glance, at least - appears to have absolutely nothing to do with the movie itself. Captain Supermarket? Where did that come from? Army of Darkness is about fightin' undead medieval creatures... what were those Japanese distributors thinking, huh? There's genuinely some logical here, though, given that Ash (Bruce Campbell) worked in a supermarket before he got stuck fighting zombies in the past, and the Darkness' last scene (in the US version, anyway) is set in that very supermarket, when Ash returns to the present. Presumably the person who named the movie Captain Supermarket only saw this scene. Or maybe it was the first scene. I mean, the Japanese do read their books back to front...
