books. Look at them, all glossy and printed. Now there's a smug medium if I ever saw one. What
are they, exactly? Flappy paper things with symbols inside them - is that supposed to be cool, books? Is it? Huh? Year and years ago, it's thought that humans used books for entertainment purposes. But why would you do that when it's possible to sit down and stare and have a screen tell you a story without having to do any work? Still, a lot of movies are actually based on these book things, believe it or not. Presumably it's something to do with the fact that books have to be relatively "good" to be published, and that - by the time an adaptation comes around - they've already got a built-in fanbase, ready to exploit.
