4. Who Killed The Celestial?

Guardians Of The Galaxy was a huge moment for the MCU as it meant Marvel knew they could expand into stranger, more cosmic material and fans would react just as well as they were to the more grounded stuff. And while James Gunn was quite understated in his weirdness (he was let off the leash for the sequel more), he did push the boat out a fair bit.

One of those weirder elements was the introduction of Knowhere, the outpost populated by various underworld characters (like The Collector) situated inside the severed head of a Celestial. It looks great and creepy, but it leaves a big question hanging in the air: what the hell was able to remove the head of a being of such unimaginable power?

The Celestials are further hyped by The Collector as being capable of wielding Infinity Stones, so it would definitely take something very big to be capable of taking the head of one. Since it hasn't been explained in the comics, it's unlikely to get a backstory in the MCU, but that doesn't make it any less compelling.
