5. Why Doesn't Tony Stark Know About The Defenders?

When you think about it, the fact that Tony Stark knows about Spider-Man's existence suggests that he has been tracking persons of interest in the MCU somehow. Which makes him exactly the same as HYDRA up to a certain point (though clearly without the kill switch agenda)...

Why, then, has he never looked into the existence of an invulnerable man with diamond-hard skin, a blind super-ninja, a super-strong sass machine and a guy with a glowing fist and no personality? Surely any one of them would have been more use in the fight against Captain America than a teenager with no big battle experience who he gambled on as a nerph?

Wouldn't Luke Cage being able to just swallow Cap's punches have been better? Why does Tony hate the Defenders so much?
