13 Kick-Ass Upcoming Movies Nobody Is Talking About

2. Greyhound

The Post Tom Hanks
Universal

It's fair to say that Tom Hanks knows a thing or two about war films and TV shows. He's been a major part of Saving Private Ryan, the sublime Band Of Brothers and its follow-up The Pacific and he's now got another credit on his CV with upcoming film Greyhound, which he's written, is starring in and producing.

In it, he plays Commander Ernest Krause, who leads a convoy of 37 ships across the North Atlantic while pursued by German U-Boats. And if you're a war film fan, that should be absolute music to your ears. It's based on classic war novel The Good Shepherd by CS Forester (who created Horatio Hornblower) and it's another film in Hanks' catalogue of stories about great but somehow vulnerable men pushed to the limit by extreme circumstances.

If you've seen and enjoyed Sully, Captain Phillips, Castaway or Saving Private Ryan, this is going to be your jam, so keep an eye open for more developments.
