The Role: The latest Disney princess is the daughter of a Polynesian chief, coming from a long family line of navigators. In order to save her family, Moana sets off with demi-God Maui (Dwayne Johnson) to find a legendary island.
Why You Should Be Excited: For starters, Moana will be the first Polynesian Disney princess, and she seems like a fun twist on the more typical princesses the studio tends to favour.
While there's a decent chance she'll be slightly overshadowed by the enormous charisma tornado that is Dwayne Johnson, she seems like yet another strong, likeable female lead for young girls to look up to, and that's no bad thing.
