12. Daniels (Katharine Waterston) - Alien: Covenant
The Role: Daniels is the lead explorer of the colony ship Covenant, which travels to a planet on the far side of the galaxy. Though it initially seems idyllic, Daniels and her crew soon realise something far more sinister waiting for them.
Why You Should Be Excited: If there's one thing even the lesser Alien movies have done well, it's strong female characters, and given Katharine Waterston's acting chops, she should be yet another compelling franchise heroine.
She absolutely looks the part in the single image released of her character so far, rocking functional (rather than sexy) clothing and carrying a giant gun. As the movie is confirmed to be featuring extensive use of Xenomorphs, it should be fun to see her taking the Ripley role and battling the monsters head-on.
