13 Movies That Made Being A Bad Guy Look Incredibly Cool

8. Inception (2010)

In Christopher Nolan's sci-fi epic, Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) tells Ariadne what he does isn't "strictly legal," which allows his team of dream-thieves onto the list. With an all-star cast including Tom Hardy, Michael Caine and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, we follow a group who specialise in breaking into people's consciousness and extracting required information; data that costs a hefty fee for the willing buyer. While Cobb's motives for taking the job are moral in some respect, the fact his gang are essentially criminals-for-hire proves what he does is not ethical. Stealing people's thoughts for money? Surely that's wrong, but Nolan presents us the characters in such a way that we do not view it as such. The ability to create whole worlds and defy the laws of physics is enough to whet anyone's appetite. Throw in the added bonus of surviving death in the dreamstate and running along walls, and you have a concept that appeals to most. Do not deny that your inner-fanboy was doing somersaults during Gordon-Levitt's anti-gravity fight scene, or when an entire city folded over on itself; it was just like playing with your old Lego sets - only on a bigger, way more badass scale.

I love all things imaginative, from the page to the screen, and nurture a soft spot for Donald Sutherland and Daniel Bryan.
