13 Movies That Made Being A Bad Guy Look Incredibly Cool
7. Point Break (1991)
Although The Hurt Locker won a host of awards at the respective Oscars, Kathryn Bigelow's finest films came during the late Eighties and early Nineties. Her work with Point Break crowns this purple-patch in her career, sitting nicely between Near Dark and Strange Days. The late Patrick Swayze may have been known as a rom-com heartthrob after Dirty Dancing and Ghost, but his role as Bodhi in this bank robbery thriller is the best he's ever been - there's even more 'ass-kickery' than Road House. Who would have thought it? He may be robbing banks as the President and taking hostages, but anybody who can do that while sky-diving and surfing has to be commended. He's the surfer dude everybody wants to be friends with, even Johnny Utah (Keanu Reeves); the FBI agent tasked to bring down the bank robbers. As soon as he hits the screen, we love Bodhi, but we also know he'll be the leader of the gang. It doesn't matter, anybody who combines extreme sports and bank heists is somebody we can be immorally in awe of. Rest in peace, Patrick Swayze, we salute you.
