13 Things Hollywood Always Gets Wrong About Film Fans
3. Fans Do Not Want Spoilers In Trailers
Remember that time you were sitting in the theater, waiting on the new exciting trailer for your most anxiously awaited film of the year? Remember how thrilling it was when the preview started and you just edged to the cusp of your seat in anticipation? Remember how they then showed you EVERY SINGLE THING that happens in the movie? This has been a problem for a long time and no one can honestly recall when Hollywood made the mistake of thinking that audiences wanted to be spoiled on a film months ahead of its release. Do you not want our money? Because it causes a curious thought of who would pay for a film, when they have seen each twist coming months ahead of time. It is understood that studios compete with each other wholeheartedly for every single dollar, and therefore they try to show fans as much as possible to get them into the theater over that OTHER movie opening the same weekend. But they have got to find a way to do that without ruining the very movie they are wanting fans to give up their hard-earned money for. Give fans a taste, a tease, make them NEED to see your latest opus. Just stop showing them everything and spoiling even the smallest of details for absolutely no reason. Trust your fans, Hollywood, and they in turn can finally trust you.
