13. Rings Or The Ring 3
Its been quite a while since weve heard from this franchise. The Ring was, and still is, one of the most talked about horror movies, making $15M in the US during its opening weekend in 2002. It was one of the first, if not the first, to open us up to the world of Japanese horror, which is way more f***ed up than what we release here in the US. Due to its wide success, Dreamworks opted to release a sequel just three years later. The Ring Two? Not as successful, grossing a mere $75M compared to the original's $125M. The story line was bleak, but the film's reputation would have been far worse if they hadnt had Naomi Watts come back. So, will she be rejoining the franchise in this November 2015 release? No, but Johnny Galecki (The Big Bang Theorys Leonard) will be there. What hell bring to the cast, apart from star power, Im not too sure, but his character is said to be a professor who aides two of the leading ladies in their adventures with Samara. It is already clear that this film will not follow the same story line as the original Ringu series third movie, Sadako. David Dorfman, everyones favorite creepy child, will not be rejoining the cast either, which could make or break this film. After all, what is The Ring without Aiden? The director on the project, F. Javier Gutierrez, doesnt have any notable releases, but everyones gotta start somewhere. Whether it was the talents' choices not to return or if it's a way for the series to try and survive without them, it could either go really well or horribly, horribly wrong.
