2. About Half Of Everyone - Prometheus

Like Kane in Alien starring at the extraterrestrial egg sac opening before him, the crew in Prometheus also has their fair share of gullible personnel. Except this time all of these people are scientists in the top of their respected fields. So naturally when a slimy alien snake with a cobra's head and shark's teeth appears their first reaction is to try and pet it. Just like anyone else would. Come on guys, that's just... dumb. Same thing goes for the pilots of the ship in this movie. When he gets the call the Captain gladly lays down his life to protect Earth by ramming his ship into the alien spacecraft. Okay, he has strong feelings towards honor and duty. He is also shown to be a very brave man. However, what doesn't add up is that his two co-pilots gladly go with him on this suicide run like they've been waiting to do it their entire lives. When the captain tells them to escape they instead strap in with big smiles and go down with the ship. Do all these characters have some sort of death wish the audience doesn't know about?
