14 Sci-Fi Movie Characters Who Aren't As Smart As They Think

1. Everyone - Doom

2005_doom_001 When some sort of outbreak has happened in a Martian research facility that involves the deaths of a team of scientists a lone group of eight RRTS Hellfighter marines is sent through a portal to finish the job. They have no scientific knowledge among them, sent in merely to rescue anyone still breathing and eliminate all hostile forces. When they get there they are met by Pinky, a man in a wheelchair due to an accident with the portal or "ark" and Dr. Samantha Grimm, the marine called Reaper's sister. They enter the quarantined area of the laboratory and it immediately becomes apparent that something very bad is going on. At this point in time instead of retreating to Earth, calling for back up, or at least alerting someone that the facility on Earth should be well guarded in case the worst happens they instead stick around and get picked off one by one. Then applying only the best of logic they leave Pinky as the lone guard of the portal to Earth and refuse to help him when he is under attack. He flees through the portal, but the evil alien demons on Mars follow him. Now the remaining marines along with Dr. Grimm go back to Earth without even attempting to alert the rest of the military of the danger (apparently they only cared enough to send eight guys anyways). Once there they are instantly struck with the fact that in such a short span of time everything has been destroyed and everyone turned into either zombies or Imps. They do find a group of humans uninfected by the strange viral condition, but the Sarge (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) kills them anyways in the end for just being a liability. At this time, Reaper gets shot with his own gun and is dying. His sister, who has revealed that she has known all along what was really going on in the facility then tells her brother that she going to inject him with the 24th Martian chromosome, the same exact thing that turned everyone else into a demon. At first Reaper refuses, but then he allows himself to listen to her logic. If people are bad then the chromosome turns them into monsters, but if they are good then it makes them superhuman. She knows there is good in him. He gives in and receives the injection. When he awakens again, his sister is gone. Reaper than travels through the destroyed facility killing laughing zombies (laughing?), Imps, and Demons. He then kills Sarge by sending him back through the portal with a grenade. He and his sister take the elevator back up to the surface of Earth where the rest of the planet is still oblivious to all that happened. The end. Do I really need to say anymore about this one?
