The Role: One of the most memorable aspects of the Tarantino-scripted, Tony Scott-directed crime thriller is Christopher Walken's performance as Don Vincenzo Coccotti, who teams with Dennis Hopper to steal the entire movie in the infamous "eggplant" scene. Before the role went to the legendary actor, though, it was offered to Liam Neeson, who was very much on the rise at the time. What Happened?: Neeson turned the part down for undisclosed reasons. Little else is known about his involvement (or not) with the project. Would It Have Worked?: Probably not. Neeson isn't exactly the best actor with accents anyway, and there's just no way he would've given the eggplant scene in particular the same demented feeling of anxiety that Walken imbued it with so well.
