15 Actors You Didn't Know Were Almost Cast In Tarantino Movies

8. Eddie Murphy - Unspecified Role (Inglourious Basterds)

The Role: Nobody has been able to actually confirm this one yet, though it's widely believed that, given that the final movie had only one black character in it, QT must have been considering the on-the-skids comedian for the part of Marcel, the cinema projectionist played by Jacky Ido. What Happened?: Who knows? Was Murphy even telling the truth or just trying to get his name back in the Hollywood trade publications again? Would It Have Worked?: It depends. If the part would have remained French with Murphy on board, then probably not. Plus, to give such a famous actor such a tiny, unassuming role would itself be rather distracting in the long run. Plus, he's over 20 years older than Mélanie Laurent, and if they were still to be lovers, it's a bit queasy.
