Picturehouse PicturehousePan's Labyrinth is a dark fantasy film which creates a deeply unsettling atmosphere capable of captivating audiences from start to finish. Ofelia encounters many menacing fantastical creatures on her travels which €“ thanks in no small part to the film's unique art style €“ look absolutely incredible. Knowing how much time the costume team must have spent both designing and assembling the outfits of these magical creatures, it becomes all the more surprising that pictures like these exist which completely ruin all the hard work done by the amazing costume artists. If there's any silver lining, at least this Faun drinks Cola rather than the Dr. Pepper of Michael Myers.

4. The Real Godfather

Paramount PicturesParamount PicturesOne of the reasons why Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather has endured as one of the greatest films ever made is because of the amazingly well realised characters. Of the film's many compelling characters, there are none who are more memorable than Marlon Brando's mobster Vito Corleone. Vito is the boss of the most powerful Mafia family in New York and €“ though mostly extremely fair €“ is capable of being ruthless to maintain his position at the top. Seeing Francis Ford Coppola stand behind Brando's character with a hand on the back of his seat in a position of power challenges the authority of the mob boss. The intense glare of Coppola reminds us that he is actually the real boss €“ the film's director who is the one who really makes the decisions.
