15 Best Alien Movie Deaths

7. Peter Weyland (Prometheus)

Alien 3 Ripley
20th Century Fox

Weyland’s life-long search for enlightenment and immortality comes to a bit of an anticlimax when he finally meets his maker. Thought dead, the aged Weyland is discovered to have been secretly kept in stasis aboard Prometheus, with his intention to request prolonged life from the hopefully benevolent Engineers.

His hopes are quickly dashed, however, as the recently awakened Engineer proceeds to rip David’s synthetic head off before using it to casually wallop the frail Weyland, who’s given a football-sized bruise for his troubles.

It’s a marvel to watch as the Engineer’s incredibly violent reaction is almost a parody of someone who’s clearly not a morning person, his long slumber interrupted. We had a pretty good idea all along that the Engineers wouldn’t turn out to be good news for humanity, and this scene bluntly confirms it.

It’s a darkly amusing sight as Weyland’s quest to evade death results in just that, with the Engineer’s disdainful hostility akin to man crushing an ant, simply because he can.
