15 Best Hans Zimmer Film Soundtracks

1. Inception

It was tough but ultimately Inception tops Zimmer's discography. Every song in the soundtrack is just mesmerising to listen to. From the electrifying drums of Mombasa, to the dark and nerve wracking Dream Within A Dream, it has it all,

Its influence and legacy on film scores and Hollywood cannot be understated, with the track Time being reused endlessly for different trailers and the go to song when epic background music is needed. And who could forget the Inception 'bwoah' sound that every blockbuster in the early 2010s decided to incorporate.

The integration of the classic song Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien, which ought to have been ham-handed and terrible, works perfectly and was even the inspiration for the brass instrument fanfare that came to define the soundtrack and Zimmer's career.

It simply cannot be stated how good this soundtrack, or in fact any of the soundtracks mentioned on this list are, so please give them all a listen as soon as possible.

Best Track: Time

Dream Is Collapsing would be a worthy winner, as would Mombasa, but it wouldn't be right if Time wasn't given this title. It's a piece of music that simply will be remembered until the end of, well, time.
