15 Best Hans Zimmer Film Soundtracks

2. Pirates Of The Caribbean

Now it must be said that Hans Zimmer is not officially credited as the composer for the first Pirates Of The Caribbean movie, The Curse Of The Black Pearl, but it is widely acknowledged that he did in fact create the main theme we all know and love.

Alan Silvestri was the original composer but after he dropped out, Zimmer was approached. He was forced to turn it down as he was working on The Last Samurai but agreed to produce the soundtrack and write out the main music for Klaus Badelt to work from. And thank goodness he did.

He brilliantly manages to incorporate so many different genres, including action, romance, comedy and horror so seamlessly. The Pirates' music is so iconic it's as recognisable as other top film themes like Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Mission Impossible. When it starts playing everyone around knows that they're in for a fun ride.

Zimmer did go on to compose the soundtracks for the rest of the franchise. Except for Dead Men Tell No Tales, but no one cares about that movie.

Best Track: Drink Up Me Hearties Yo Ho

Since He's A Pirate is officially credited to Badelt, let's go with an extended version of it from the end of At World's End.
