2. Crazy Levels Of Action

We mentioned the visuals, cinematography, and set designs for the film, but let's not forget one of the most important facets of blockbuster entertainment: the action. While it's certainly not the most important factor when it comes to a good movie, it's definitely an integral part of these superhero films, and Gunn looks like he's done wonders here. Marvel has been trying to top itself film by film, after the enormous final set piece that Joss Whedon was able to pull off in The Avengers. Iron Man 3 included an army of Iron Man armors, while Thor: The Dark World employed some planet-hopping and portal-jumping. Captain America: The Winter Solider ramped things up even more with the impressive hellicarrier takedowns in the third act, and now Gunn has some crazy looking space battles and close-combat fights for us to look forward to. Drax the Destroyer will be one to watch, and is referred to by Quill as "a maniac." We know Gamora is a deadly assassin, with family ties to Thanos and an evil step-sister, Nebula, on the loose. The two of them seem to share what is sure to be an incredible showdown, while Groot, Rocket, and Star-Lord are similarly given some great fights along the way, specifically the jailbreak sequence. Needless to say, this one will be a definite must-see in the theater, and you can bet that Gunn will make the 3D ticket well worth the extra few bucks.
