15 Incredible Hidden Details You Missed In 2018 Movies
10. Ryan's Not A Moron - Game Night
Game Night was easily one of the most surprising successes of the year. It could have been just another disposable goofball comedy about a normal night gone wrong thanks to dirty secrets unwittingly worming their way out, but thanks to a great script, wonderful performances and brilliant characters, it was far more than that.
It also features an excellent credits scene, which is genuinely worth sticking around to watch as it reveals how Officer Gary set up the fake Game Night to prank his "friends" including research and lots of signs of surveillance. That includes stolen ID from each of his marks, including a student identity card belonging to Billy Magnussen's Ryan, which reveals he went to Harvard, despite the fact that he appears to be a complete moron. It's a nice little throw-away gag that you'd miss if you didn't see the credits.
The credits also include a call-back to another Ryan moment earlier in the film. When the kidnappers call with their demands, he dumbly says that the caller had a scary monster voice, which is shot down by his date as being just a voice changer. But during the credits, we get to see Gary's voice changer and it actually does have the ‘monster’ button selected.
