15 Interesting Facts About The Daniel Craig Bond Films

9. Quentin Tarantino Wanted To Direct Casino Royale

Back in the days when Pierce Brosnan had yet to vacate the role of Bond and before Casino Royale was set to be adapted for a reboot, the franchise was in a state of limbo. Seeing an opportunity to step in, Quentin Tarantino though the Casino Royale novel was a great inspiration for a film. Wanting to film it as a period piece with Brosnan, unbound by continuity, Tarantino pursued the project only to be shut down by the notoriously protective Eon Productions.

Tarantino tried to acquire the rights himself to no avail and eventually the studio would take note of his ideas and pursue a Casino Royale film of their own.

A Tarantino Bond film could have been a fascinating thing to see, but outside of the specific character, it€™s not like there€™s anything stopping Tarantino if he really wants to pursue this. He could still just make a homage to a Bond film akin to Kingsman: The Secret Service and make everyone happy.
