15 Most Exciting Upcoming Comic Book Movie Performances
4. Ben Affleck's Batman (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice)
Hot on the heels of Lex Luthor, I cant really think of a casting choice that cultivated controversy quite like the reveal of Batfleck. Keyboard warriors were quick to charge onto the virtual battlefield, using DVDs of Daredevil as shields and rolled-up Gigli scripts for swords. For some reason, people had forgotten that Affleck has done nothing but churn out one great movie after another, in front of the camera and behind it, since The Town in 2010. Still, this is Batman were talking about and fans will always be apprehensive when it comes to the Caped Crusader. Our new Batman appears to be unlike any other incarnation; a cruel man in a cruel world. Love it or leave it, this isnt the type of Batman that will be ditching his entire modus operandi for eight years simply because his childhood sweetheart died in a ball of fire. Affleck is smart enough to know the cultural significance of being Bruce Wayne and the necessary respect required. Not only does he have the looks but, in what will be the first time for an actor who will don the familiar cowl, he has the size and stature (Affleck is 6 foot 3 and will definitely kick your a**). His physical presence will go a long way in convincing us that this is a Batman to truly fear. One only has to look at Affleck's recent spate of films (Argo, Gone Girl) to be reminded that he's not only the most experienced actor on this list, but also ages like a fine wine.
