3. The Neomorph Is Born - Alien: Covenant
After he bent over backwards to distance Prometheus from the other Alien movies, Ridley Scott appears to be welcoming the slimy beast back into his heart with open arms. This sequel will follow a new crew coming across Michael Fassbender’s evil android David on another planet, and predictably enough a bug hunt soon begins.
The trailer for Covenant is keen to show the story is steeped in Alien lore, with eggs, face-huggers and a new strain of xenomorph coming into play. These new guys – dubbed Neomorph’s – are albino freaks who burst out of people’s backs instead of their chests.
They actually come from an early script for Prometheus, but since Ridley was shy about including a classic Alien design in that movie, he decided to save it for a sequel instead; let’s hope the wait was worth it.
