15 Most Inappropriate Comic Book Movie Storylines Of All Time

1. Black Widow's Back Story In Age Of Ultron

See though, the thing is with Ichi The Killer, you knew you were getting utter depravity going in. Attendees to the film's première were handed sick backs on the way in, for god's sake. Where you don't expect to see rape and untold trauma enacted on women's bodies is in a PG-13 summer blockbuster by a guy who's known for being a “feminist” writer.

Avengers: Age Of Ultron, which Joss Whedon wrote and directed, is absolutely harrowing in similar ways to Ichi The Killer, but it's totally out of left field. First there's the rape joke, where Tony Stark says (when attempting to lift Mjolnir) he plans to enact prima nocta when he's king. That's an ancient law that allowed monarchs to rape whoever.

Gross, right? And not the sort of joke you expect in a film for mainstream audiences. And kids.

Yet it continues, with Black Widow's shadowy back story being revealed to be that she had her womb removed as part of her Russian assassin training. Because then she's damaged and interesting, you see! How come Cap didn't get a vasectomy or something?

Natasha Romanoff's back story is undoubtedly the most inappropriate comic book movie storyline in history. It's upsetting, more than a little misogynistic, graphic, and is featured in a film which has multiple Lego sets associated with it. Who signed off on this.
