Sebastian Shaw - also known as Klaus Schmidt - was played by Kevin Bacon in X-Men: First Class. His mutant power was the ability to absorb all forms of raw energy - including kinetic - and either redirect it offensively or use it to augment his own physical attributes. This rendered him practically immune to physical attacks and it also enabled him to remain young, as he used absorbed energy to sustain his youth. Examples of him using his power include absorbing the explosion caused by a grenade and redirecting the blast into the man who threw it by simply touching him. He also absorbed Havok's energy blast, turned it into a little blob of energy and placed it in Darwin's mouth, killing him. He could easily absorb bullets and blasts of fire too. He was also the first wearer of Magneto's psychic-proof helmet, which made him immune to any kind of telepathic probing or attack.
