15 Most Shocking Moments In Found Footage Movies

9. Entering Hell - As Above, So Below

As Above So Below
Universal Pictures

Despite its stupid name, As Above, So Below was a surprisingly inventive horror movie about a group of people searching the catacombs below Paris for The Philosopher's Stone. Yeah, yeah, get your Harry Potter jokes in now.

Going off the set route, the troop find themselves trapped in the depths of the tombs (which in itself leads to some anxiety-inducing sequences of people struggling to get through small, claustrophobic spaces) as increasingly surreal, unexplainable apparitions begin to terrorise them.

The deeper they get into the caves the weirder things get, and the group begin to realises they've literally stumbled into the gateway to Hell. The place more than lives up to its name, and the worst fears of each surviving member begin to come to life as they encounter one horrific nightmare after another.

Drenched in blood and coming into contact with dead parents, cult singers and demons giving chase, the throw-everything-at-the-wall mentality of As Above's ending more than did its hellish premise justice.
