15 Most Shocking Moments In Found Footage Movies

10. Bigfoot In The Woods - Willow Creek

For some reason, the horror genre "enjoyed" a brief period where filmmakers tried to outdo each other to create the best found-footage Bigfoot movie of all time. While the guys behind The Blair Witch Project had a pretty good pop at it with Exists, it was actually 2013's Willow Creek that turned out to be the best of the bunch.

For the most part leaving it up to the audience as to whether anything big or hairy is actually roaming around the wilderness that couple Kelly and Jim are camping in, the mystery is finally solved in one particularly harrowing set-piece.

Filmed entirely in one long take from inside their tent, the two begin to lose it as mysterious, inhuman noises begin to get louder and close in on them. Initially assuming it to be locals playing a prank (who knew they were specifically trying to find Bigfoot), the almost ten-minute sequence doesn't show anything, but the rising terror and the sounds themselves will put you off camping for life.

On paper it's nothing really special - essentially two people in a tent and a few loud noises outside - but the slow-build of the scene, combined with just how long it goes on for, makes the eventual climax unbelievably horrifying.
