Rotten Tomatoes Score: 38% (5.0/10)

Largely fobbed off by critics, given a tough "C+" CinemaScore and grossing just $11 million worldwide, Gringo has apparently been a tough sell to just about everyone, despite the fact that it's actually pretty decent.

David Oyelowo shines as a businessman who finds himself on the run from a Mexican drug cartel in this barmy crime comedy, while Charlize Theron provides ferocious support and Sharlto Copley gamely reminds everybody that he's still a thing.

An unashamedly small movie albeit one which is both hilarious and brutally violent, Gringo proudly bares its rough edges and, despite a few stumbles, is a mostly fun time that hits the right notes.

Don't be surprised if this one picks up a second life on streaming services over the next few years.
