10. Santa Claus – Santa’s Slay
Canadian comedy-horror Santa’s Slay takes the jolly, lovely,
giving Santa Claus we’ve known and loved since childhood and reinvents him as
the evil son of Satan condemned to delivering presents to good kids for 1000
years after he loses a curling match bet with an archangel.
Unfortunately for the appropriately named township of Hell, Santa’s (played by wrestler Bill Goldberg) millennium-long sentence has come to an end and he’s hellbent on exacting revenge on the archangel who forced him to be nice for so long who just so happens to be living in the town in human form.
Cue a bloody yet festive spree as Santa and his hell-deer wreak homicidal havoc on the town through a series of Christmassy kills including asphyxiation via turkey leg and Christmas wreath, eggnog drowning and stabbing some dude through the eyeball with a candy cane. Santa, why?!
Santa’s Slay gets ten points for the punny title and suitably festive gore, but minus ten points for destroying the sanctity of Santa Claus.
