15 Must-See Blumhouse Movies
1. Get Out
Could it really have been anything else?
To date, Get Out is unquestionably the jewel in Blumhouse's crown. A layered and brilliantly written meditation on race in America, this is a film so complex, intelligent and filled with symbolism it feels borderline Shakespearean at times.
While often hilarious, Get Out ultimately emerges as one of the most terrifying horror films ever made. A nerve-shredding, painfully tense and nightmarish tale of racism that reflects today's society in a truly horrifying manner, Get Out is a film that will leave many watching through their fingers and whimpering in fear.
Boasting great direction from Jordan Peele and superb performances all around, especially from an Oscar-worthy (and criminally snubbed) Allison Williams, Get Out is easily one of the best horror films of the decade and it makes for a completely unique viewing experience that's like absolutely nothing else out there. More than anything else, Get Out is testament to what, when in the right hands, horror cinema can really do.
