15 Near Miss Villain Castings That Would Suck More Than Eisenberg's Luthor

8. Matt Damon - Two Face (The Dark Knight)

Matt Damon has so much going for him as an actor: he's an exceptionally talented one for starters, he's good looking and he's immensely likeable, but that doesn't mean he would have been a great Harvey Dent, and eventually Two Face in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight. The actor did confirm he was approached for the part, but it eventually went to Aaron Eckhart, who so brilliantly combined the chiseled-jaw, all-American look of Dent with something far more fierce, intense and grotesque as he became Two Face. I'm just not convinced Damon could go to the dark place needed for the character. Though Damon's few spurts playing villains have generally been excellent (The Departed, for one), I think he would've nailed Dent and made for an underwhelming Two Face. That and he's a little too baby-faced for my liking: Eckhart is an extremely handsome but clearly middle-aged man, and that makes him a lot more believable as a politician of this stature.
