9. Cameos By The Office Cast - David Brent: Life On The Road
David Brent: Life On The Road felt like Ricky Gervais’ last roll of the dice when it comes to being a leading man, and it should have been a safe bet. He was reprising the role that made him a star, in addition to writing and directing.
The worrying part was that Office and Extras co-creator Stephen Merchant wasn’t involved, and Gervais hadn’t been on top form in recent years. Those fears were confirmed when the film came out, which contained a couple of good gags but wasn't a patch on his heyday.
It was even more disappointing for people who showed up expecting cameos from some of The Office cast – Martin Freeman, Lucy Davis etc – and there were none to be found.
