10. Entering A Forest And Hoping To Find Tree Spirits
The Forest spirits in Princess Mononoke are some of the most memorable creatures the studio have ever created. To bump into one in a dense and spooky forest would be most fans idea of a dream come true, but according to Japanese folklore this would not necessarily be how one would interact with a forest spirit. Although Miyakazi gave them humanoid form in their design, the forest spirits are actually meant to be representative of the Kodama, a spirit that lives in the tops of trees, protecting what they inhabit from being cut down or damaged by means of cursing the person trying to cause harm to their home. Apparently, you would never know which trees were inhabited by the spirits unless you attempted to cut it down or consulted some elder, wise woman who knew which were which. Thus all Studio Ghibli fans must give up hope of gaining a little bobble-headed companion and now remember to simply fear trees forever.
TV and Film fanatic with too much time on her hands and a penchant for fast food and handsome men, not necessarily in that order.
Self proclaimed 'funny one' among family and friends.
