15 Things You Didn't Know About Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy
9. John C. Reilly Missed Out Due To A Scheduling Conflict
Another actor that was pencilled in for a part in the first Anchorman film was John C. Reilly, but he eventually had to pull out due to a scheduling conflict while shooting for the movie, The Aviator.
Adam McKay and Will Ferrell were eventually able to cast Reilly in the sequel, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, in which he has a cameo during the second movie’s epic fight scene, appearing as the ‘Ghost of Stonewall Jackson’.
Reilly has also shared the screen with Will Ferrell in a number of other beloved movies such as Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby and Step Brothers, as well as the not-so popular Holmes & Watson adaptation.
As for the first Anchorman movie, Reilly was reportedly considered for the part of either Champ Kind or Brick Tamland, with the latter being a role that a number of actors were rumoured to be keen on.
