15 Upcoming Comic Book Movie Performances That Will Kick Ass
8. David Harbour As Hellboy
The Film: Hellboy: Rise Of The Blood Queen
In a parallel universe somewhere, Guillermo Del Toro made Hellboy 3, bringing back Ron Perlman as Big Red and allowing his imagination to run rampant over the production in the best way. Unfortunately, that universe probably also saw Hellboy II perform well enough at the box office for there to be no question of its follow-up.
Here, we're getting an R-rated reboot with a smaller budget and a tighter focus on horror - closer in genetics to the comics that Del Toro liberally ignored for his own vision - from the pen of Mike Mignola. And while there's no director yet, we do know that the man charged with replacing Perlman is Stranger Thing's MVP David Harbour.
Though he's a great actor in his own right, seeing how he manages to deal with replacing Perlman is the biggest story of Rise Of The Blood Queen. And frankly, he's arguably one of few actors who we could reasonably expect to offer a performance that would be both different and excellent.
