3. February 2004
Number Of movies Released: 12 Rotten Tomatoes average: 35% Number Of Movies Receiving Lower Than 25%: 6 While February 2004 does have a few films that critics were kind to, like with Barbershop 2 and Miracle, it was a month largely dominated by awful films. Six out of the 12 films released in February 2004 received a Rotten Tomatoes rating of less than 25%. Five of those 6 were lower than 15%. These movies include Catch That Kid, Welcome To Mooseport, Against The Ropes, Confessions Of A Teenage Drama Queen, and Twisted. Like with Daddy Day Camp, Twisted is another movie that somehow managed to receive a 1% approval rating. It did not fare much better with audiences either (32%). And at 44%, the Adam Sandler comedy 50 First Dates is actually the last Happy Madison comedy (his production company) to receive higher than 40% from critics. Sandler's starred in 10 more Happy Madison movies since 2004, with each movie progressively getting worse than the last. Sadly, Gene Hackman has not starred in another movie since Welcome To Mooseport. Hackman had been a widely celebrated actor for over thirty years, but after Welcome To Mooseport failed to connect with critics and audiences, it seems Hackman was finally fed up with the movie business.
