7. Robert De Niro - Dirty Grandpa

Unlike messrs Pacino, Hopkins and Willis, who seem content to see out their careers doing half-a** imitations of the kind of characters they killed back in the day, Robert De Niro decided he was sick of playing gangsters and branched out into literally anything that would pay well - which, for the most part, has been comedy.

The Goodfellas actor began life as a comedy actor by sending up his tough guy persona for laughs, though, while this was a good bit of fun at first, the more De Niro played on his cinematic past the more it began to feel like parody. With the exception of David O. Russell, who seems to be the only director able to get a tune out of him nowadays, most filmmakers cast De Niro because they can afford it and because he's Robert De Niro.

Such was the case with Dirty Grandpa, a film that uses crude humour to try and illicit laughter but makes its audience cringe for all the wrong reasons. By the end of the film you feel a kind of sadness, like you've just watched your own Grandpa make a complete fool of himself. It's all so overtly offensive that his supposed good intentions (he wants Grandson Zac Efron to loosen up a bit) are lost among the racial and gay slurs, excessive cursing and general over-the-top bad behavior.
