8. Ben Stiller - Zoolander 2

All Zoolander 2 managed to achieve was proving that the original was only a mild success because it came out in a time when putting on a funny voice and mocking a profession counted as satire. Director and star Ben Stiller returns to the title role and partners Derek Zoolander with his former rival Hansel (Owen Wilson) as they try to hang on to their status as top male models.

The only time the script doesn't seem to be ripping off the original is when it is referencing it directly, something it does way too often, treading over old ground and milking every successful gag from the first film for all it is worth (which wasn't much to begin with). Similarly, Stiller replicates his performance from the first Zoolander, adding nothing new to a character that sorely needed updating.

The moronic lead and the way he was written are not the only reasons Zoolander 2 was panned, however. At times, Stiller's acting is reminiscent of the theatrical performance of Simple Jack he puts on for an audience of Vietnamese militants in Tropic Thunder, with delivery so painfully idiotic that it borders on insulting.
