Its no surprise that the farther back you go in film history, the less politically correct they were, and King Kong Vs. Godzilla is no exception. As soon as the story moves to Faro Island, you notice that the natives are in fact Japanese actors in blackface, meant to be inhabitants of a tribal society. Nowadays no major film production would ever think about being so racially insensitive (well, unless you count The Lone Ranger), though to be fair, at no point in the film are the natives presented as savage or inhuman. They are curious, inquisitive, and welcoming. You also have to take into account the production demands of a Japanese based film studio post World War II. Still, seeing actors dressed up in what is essentially blackface immediately dates the film and can be quite a culture shock for those not expecting it.
