14. Adam Driver - Kylo Ren

Easily the best written and most fleshed out character in the new trilogy, Kylo's continued battle with his own history, aspirations, anger issues and flirtations with authoritarian rule will take on an entire new dimension in Episode IX.

As Snoke dying leaves the First Order without much of a directive, The Last Jedi had Kylo clutching his father's dice as he realised he would have to continue playing the bad guy. How much he actively wants to is where Episode IX comes in, and we've seen redemptive qualities across the last two films, mixed with bursts of reactionary anger and a longing to let his childhood frustrations torment the galaxy.

Adam Driver plays Kylo with the perfect mix of restraint, sadness, occasional power and confusion that would embody a rebel child being taken in by the First Order. Him being "let of the leash" should be fascinating to watch unfold.
