16 Crazy Facts You Just Have To Accept To Enjoy The Matrix Trilogy

16. Trinity Should Have Died In Reloaded

Throughout Reloaded, Neo (Keanu Reeves) is haunted by the premonition of Trinity's (Carrie-Anne Moss) death, coming to a head near the end of the movie when the Architect present Neo with a choice: rescue Trinity or save Zion. The Architect insists that to save Trinity would result in the destruction of the human race, but Neo rushes to her side anyway. When Neo arrives, Trinity has been mortally wounded by an Agent, just as in his dream. However, Neo uses his powers to remove the bullet from her body and massage her heart to restart it, making them even after Trinity saved Neo in the first movie. However, given that Neo takes such a risk to save Trinity, isn't it pretty sucky that she only ends up dying in Revolutions anyway? From a dramatic perspective it seems pretty lame, and one can't help but think it would have been more interesting to keep Trinity dead as the downbeat cliffhanger (it certainly beats Bane-Smith getting on-board The Hammer) leading into Revolutions.
