18 Crazy Facts You Have To Accept To Enjoy The Wizarding World Movies
10. Prisoner Of Azkaban's Time Travel Element Ruins Its Final Act
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is one of the franchise's best films and it's definitely the finest on a cinematic level thanks to Alfonso Cuaron being in the director's seat, but unfortunately it is also one of those mostly great movies with quite an annoying final act.
The introduction of time travel was a real blunder. There are lots of logic questions throughout the film's final act but worse still, it opens up a huge plot hole in the series' mythology. Why didn't they use the time turner more? And if they're so looked down upon and rarely used, why would the Hogwarts staff give one to a student just so that she could take extra classes?
This didn't work on the screen and while it worked better in the book, even there it felt somewhat illogical. Prisoner of Azkaban is definitely one of the best books and films in the entire franchise, but introducing time travel (and then never bringing it up again) was a mistake.
