11. Voldemort's Plan In Goblet Of Fire Makes No Sense

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is a truly awesome fantasy adventure and arguably the best Harry Potter film of them all, but there is a huge logic issue you'll have to let slide while watching it.

Voldemort's (Ralph Fiennes) plan to bring Harry to him (so that he could be resurrected, as Harry's blood was needed) really didn't make any sense. Barty Crouch Jr (David Tennant), who is disguised as Mad Eye Moody (Brendan Gleeson), puts Harry's name into the Goblet of Fire and enters him into the Triwizard Tournament, thus eventually leading him to a portkey in the final task which brings him to Voldemort.

There was an awful lot that could've gone wrong with this convoluted plan and one can't help but wonder why Barty Crouch Jr couldn't have simply kidnapped Harry from Hogwarts. It would've been very hard but surely Voldemort could've found a way.

Of course, the film's entire story is brilliant and the twist involving Mad-Eye Moody's true identity is very clever, with subtle hints dropped throughout the screenplay, so it's hard to complain about Goblet of Fire's screenplay, but the logic of it is questionable.
