18 Crucial Questions For 2015's Most Anticipated Movies

4. Is Bond 24 Another "Quantum" Or Another "Skyfall"?

Release Date: November 6th Shooting on the hugely-anticipated Bond 24 begins in just a few short weeks, and from the little that's known so far, it has the potential to be insanely good: Sam Mendes is directing again, John Logan is writing again, Lea Seydoux is reportedly playing the Bond girl, Christoph Waltz has taken the part of an ambiguous character, and Dave Bautista will play an imposing henchman. Still, as Quantum Of Solace proved, a good director, strong writer and promising cast is little indication of what the final product will be, for though that movie was unquestionably compromised by the Writers' Strike, the bottom line is that the final product resulted in easily the weakest of Craig's three Bond movies to date. This begs the question: will Bond 24 be another stone-cold classic in the vein of the brilliant Skyfall, or simply another passably entertaining if not especially memorable action flick ala Quantum of Solace? Verdict: It'd have to make a lot of mistakes to be as underwhelming as Quantum, and the lack of a Writers Strike for one makes that unlikely. Even if it's not quite as great as Casino or Skyfall, if this one fell below a 7/10, it would be pretty shocking given the talent on-board.
