8. Tarantino Scraps The Hateful Eight Following A Script Leak...But Eventually Revives It
It seems like Quentin Tarantino isn't capable of writing a movie script that doesn't leak online long before the release: this happened with both Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained, and unsurprisingly with his upcoming Western drama The Hateful Eight. In January, the script was readily available online, and a few days later, the director announced that he was scrapping the project due to the leak. He then scrambled to figure out where the leak came from, while insisting he would publish the screenplay and move onto something else. After an emotional Tarantino filed a frivolous lawsuit against Gawker for posting a link to the script, he eventually withdrew the suit, saw sense and agreed to make the film, which began shooting three weeks ago with an insane cast, including Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Dern, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Walton Goggins, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Demián Bichir and Kurt Russell.
