9. All-Female Ghostbusters Reboot Announced, Paul Feig To Direct
One of the year's weirder announcements was that a new Ghostbusters movie is on the way...but it's not Ghostbusters 3, and won't star any of the original cast members. Instead, director Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, The Heat) will helm an all-female reboot, with the likes of Melissa McCarthy, Lizzy Caplan, Kristen Wiig and many more reportedly showing interest in the film. The Sony hack also revealed further information, that Ryan Gosling was interested in a part, and that Peter Dinklage was being sought for the role of an executed murderer who shows up in villainous ghost form. Bill Murray has expressed his enthusiasm for the film, though probably can't be convinced to show up in even just cameo form, sadly.
