5. Jesse Eisenberg Cast As Lex Luthor For Batman V Superman
One of the most bizarre casting announcements in years came this past January when it was revealed that Jesse Eisenberg would be playing criminal mastermind Lex Luthor in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. While fans were all pretty much OK with Jeremy Irons simultaneously being cast as Alfred, Eisenberg's casting seemed so out of place that fan outrage ran rampant. Speculation has continued since as to whether Eisenberg will in fact be bald, but given the secret nature of the set, no definitive answer has emerged yet. Still, it's known that Eisenberg will be a young, hip take on the classic villain, apparently not unlike Eisenberg's quick-witted take on Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network. Eisenberg's a world-class actor, so while his casting was undoubtedly a shock, there's nothing to say he won't completely nail an unconventional take if the script is right.
